started the Jr. College way back in 1975 with the aim of introducing young

girls to an alternative course of study other than the traditionally accepted courses of pure sciences, arts or commerce. Girls were offered subjects like Textiles and Clothing, Child Development, Home Management, and Food Science and Nutrition in addition to the widely taught subjects like Chemistry, Biology, Psychology and Sociology. In time we realized that some girls were keen to try out the subjects of Physics and Mathematics at Jr. College level and so we introduced these subjects too in the early 80s.
